CAPT Relocation·The Journey to the New Facility(4)

Four days after the last visit to the new facility, I came again on Tuesday, July 28th, 2020. The first thing that caught my eye was that our workers put equal importance on New Plant Relocation and Lean Management.

Until today, Gear-operator Workshop has finished moving 16 machining centers and they have resumed full production in the new plant. We have abundant orders for gear-operators so the production is really a tough task. In order to satisfy the delivery, the machining centers have been working in two shifts to speed up production. What’s more, two sets of lathes have been successfully relocated and started mass production.

The relocation of the Pulley and Bushing Workshop is also progressing rapidly. Two sets of lathes have been successfully relocated and started mass production. One set of lathe will start mass production immediately after testing. And the rest five sets are being located or tested.

Since the beginning of July, Material Preparation Workshop have undertaken the task of crane rail’s installing, testing and fixing as well as the refitting of tubes at site at Pulley and Bushing Workshop and Gear-operation Workshop. It was only last week that they were able to concentrate on building the second-floor warehouse of the Packaging workshop, and plan to complete the overall assembly this week and welding next week. Then they will dismantle the iron plate on the ground of the old workshop and use the removed iron plate for the second time. For example, they lay it on the ground and the top of the second-story warehouse, and use it as guardrail, in order to maximize “reducing consumption and increasing efficiency”.

During the relocation to the new plant, the Lean Management Office is following up all over, introducing the concept of “Lean Management” to the new plant, having the first try and test in Gear-operator Workshop.

We can see that in the Valve Actuator workshop "Lathe Running Status Card" has been posted on the lathe body and the lathes have been numbered. It is visual management of equipment.

The newly purchased manual hydraulic vehicle and trolley are matched to solve the problem of handling up and down in the production process, which reduces the waste time of handling, greatly improves the production efficiency, and also improves the mobility of the turnover box.

We also see that greasy bamboo pedals are replaced by plastic grille pedals. The new pedal has several advantages:

1. Safety: It is not easy for employees to slip and fall.

2. 5S: It is easy to clean, improving the cleanliness of the workshop.

3. Cost: Service life is more than 10 years.

4. Unified style, easy to manage.

 

Working in a clean and orderly environment, workers smiling face can be seen at everywhere. The purpose of carry out lean management by company is to improve staff quality, management level and enterprise performance. "Employees and enterprises share honor and disgrace", let's fight for it together!
